# Quickstart: get set up in LeadScout in minutes

> Sign up for LeadScout, complete onboarding, invite your team, draw a territory, pin your first prospect, and record a knock — step by step.

Getting up and running with LeadScout takes less than ten minutes. This guide walks you through creating your account, setting up your workspace, inviting your team, and recording your very first knock on the map.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Sign up for LeadScout">
    Go to [leadscoutapp.com](https://leadscoutapp.com) and click **Start Free Trial**. You'll be taken to the sign-up screen where you can create an account with your email address.

    All plans include a 30-day free trial — no credit card required.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Complete onboarding">
    After signing in for the first time, LeadScout walks you through a short setup wizard. You'll move through six steps:

    1. **Account setup** — Enter your first name, last name, mobile phone number, company name, and billing email. Agree to the Terms & Privacy Policy, then tap **Continue**.
    2. **Current knockers** — Tell LeadScout who in your company is currently knocking doors (just you, dedicated canvassers, sales reps, or a combination).
    3. **CRM integration** — Indicate whether you have a CRM you'd like to integrate with LeadScout.
    4. **Service types** — Select the types of residential services you provide (roofing, solar, pest control, political cause, and more).
    5. **Lead statuses** — Review and customize your default lead status labels. These statuses appear on pins across the map, so set them to match your team's language.
    6. **Invite your team** — Add teammates by email before finishing setup (or skip this step and invite them later from **Settings → Team**).

    Once you complete the final step, LeadScout redirects you to your dashboard.

    <Tip>
      If you close the browser or app before finishing, LeadScout saves your progress. You'll pick up exactly where you left off the next time you sign in.
    </Tip>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Invite your team">
    If you skipped team invites during onboarding, you can send them from the dashboard at any time.

    1. Go to **Settings → Team**.
    2. Click **Invite member**.
    3. Enter the teammate's email address and choose their role.
    4. Click **Send invite**. They'll receive an email with a link to create their account and join your company workspace.

    <Note>
      Invited teammates use the same plan as your company. Each seat counts toward your per-user billing.
    </Note>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Create your first territory">
    Territories let you divide a neighborhood or region into defined areas and assign them to specific reps.

    1. Open the **Map** tab in the dashboard or mobile app.
    2. Tap the **Territories** button.
    3. Draw a boundary around the area you want to assign.
    4. Give the territory a name and assign it to a rep (or leave it unassigned).
    5. Save the territory.

    Once created, the territory boundary appears on the map so every rep knows exactly where they should be working.

    <Tip>
      See [Territories](/features/territories) for a full guide on drawing, editing, and managing territory assignments.
    </Tip>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add your first prospect on the map">
    A prospect is a pin on the map that represents a property you've visited or plan to visit.

    1. Open the **Map** tab.
    2. Tap and hold on any property to drop a pin at that location. LeadScout automatically reverse-geocodes the address in the background.
    3. The prospect detail sheet slides up from the bottom. From here you can add the homeowner's name, phone number, notes, and any tags.

    The pin appears on the map immediately, color-coded by its current lead status.

    <Note>
      To pin multiple properties quickly, enable **Turbo Pin** mode from the map toolbar. Every tap drops a pin without opening the detail sheet first.
    </Note>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Record a knock">
    Recording a knock logs that you've visited a property and captures the outcome.

    1. Tap an existing pin on the map to open the prospect detail sheet.
    2. Tap **Record knock** (or the knock icon at the top of the sheet).
    3. Choose the outcome — for example, *Not home*, *Not interested*, *Hot lead*, or *Appointment set*.
    4. Add any notes about the visit, then save.

    The knock is logged instantly. Your dashboard stats for doors knocked, leads, and appointments update in real time.

    <Tip>
      You can also record knocks from the **Prospects** list if you prefer to work without the map view.
    </Tip>
  </Step>
</Steps>
